Health and wellness programs are critical for young people. They provide opportunities for personal development, education, and tools needed for success. They also provide a sense of community and support that is so important for young people. I urge all communities to invest in these vital programs.
When a young person commits a crime, the natural inclination is to want to punish them. We want to make sure that they understand that what they did was wrong, and that there are consequences for their actions. However, our current system of juvenile justice does more harm than good. By formally processing youth through the system, we are only perpetuating delinquency.
There is a better way. Let's work together to create programs and systems that help young people grow into successful adults. We can provide support and guidance, rather than punishment and condemnation. When we focus on rehabilitation instead of retribution, everyone benefits.
Young people make mistakes. It’s a part of growing up. The key is to provide them with the support and guidance they need to learn from those mistakes, grow into successful adults, and contribute positively to society.
We can do this by creating programs and systems that focus on rehabilitation instead of retribution. When we focus on the future rather than the past, everyone benefits.
Have you or do you know someone who has experienced this? Let us know your story. Together, we can create a better future for our young people.
